As AKAP Volunteers Anna and Hart were traveling from the airport last December 15, they encountered several firetrucks and road closures. It turns out that a fire in Brgy. Talaba 2 has left 87 families homeless, with 4 fatalities, most of whom were minors.
In response, the AKAP Foundation has gathered essential items, such as packed goods, old clothes, and toys, for those in need.
These essential items were delivered on December 17, 2023 with the help of the local government. As per the CSWD, those who were affected by the massive fire included 270 adults and 15 children. These people were evacuated to the Talaba Elementary School.
Children were delighted to see some toys and shoes! Let’s spread more joy this Yuletide season. If you wish to contribute by donating old clothes and toys, the AKAP Foundation is still accepting them. Additionally, AKAP is also collecting food, vitamins, and flu medications. Thank you to those who have already helped!
