Taal Volcano Eruption Relief Program
When the eruption of Taal Volcano hit its locals during the pandemic, supplies and basic necessities were donated by AKAP Foundation. Along with a team of volunteers AKAP provided basic necessities to those who need it most.
In 2006, Founder Bro Panalangin was happily feeding the street children in the province of Cavite. In one faithful day, he got invited to a wedding. This celebration of love welcomed the presence of the street children and invited them for the reception. Before going up to the building, guests were instructed to remove their shoes and slippers.
Bro did not notice that the children lacked slippers. When the celebration ended, guests were frustrated because their shoes and slippers were missing. To Bro’s surprise, the shoes and slippers were found with the street children.
He got upset and told them that it was not right. He then realized that the children found comfort in the shoes and slippers that they wore. To us, a home keeps us safe. To them, a mere shoe can symbolize safety and comfort.
Bro wanted to comfort these children by hugging them and by bringing them a source of strength and safety. This is where the idea of AKAP Foundation began. The rest is history.
To work together with our volunteers and partners to fulfill their dreams and create lasting change in the lives of the children, elderly, and those in need.
